Presenter Clayton Hart will enlighten us on the history of chocolate as an ancient plant medicine and the science behind its ranking as a top superfood. Explore where cacao beans come from, how they’re processed, the traits that distinguish ceremonial grade cacao, the energy associated with this plant medicine, and the benefits of integrating it into your life. Our presentation concludes with a short cacao ceremony (optional) to introduce participants to the presence of cacao and open our hearts to feel more abundance.
Please note that ceremonial grade cacao is NOT appropriate for those who take SSRI or MAOI antidepressants, those who take heart medications, or those with any serious cardiovascular conditions including those with extremely high blood pressure. Please consult your doctor with any specific questions or concerns.
About Clayton
Clayton Hart has always been a chocolate lover, but it wasn’t until early 2023 that he discovered the magic of ceremonial grade cacao while backpacking in Guatemala. He returned from that trip with 3lbs of cacao and the desire to learn as much as he could about this powerful yet gentle plant medicine. Later that year, he began training to become a cacao practitioner and received his certification in 2024. He now finds joy in sharing cacao with others and teaching them what he’s learned.
The first part of this workshop will give you an introduction to Core Shamanism and Shamanic Journeying, including:
The second part of this workshop includes participation in our monthly shamanic journey circle, happening immediately following part 1 (described above).
After taking this workshop you may participate in future monthly shamanic journey circles where you'll have the opportunity to practice your skills and deepen your shamanic connections on a regular basis in a supportive environment.
Taught by Una Drake: Una began studying Core Shamanism in 2008. In 2010 she completed training in Soul Retrieval healing. She has taught shamanic journey skills and offered shamanic and energy healing to private clients for the past 15+ years. She has led a monthly shamanic journey circle in Little Rock since 2023.
This is a monthly shamanic journey circle, led by Una Drake, that has been meeting in-person in Little Rock, since mid-2023. This is a closed circle, meaning that it is only for those trained in Core Shamanism and compatible methods. This is to protect the integrity of our circle, build trust and shared points of reference, and to allow us to work more deeply together.
What do we do? We share and create community within the circle, we drum and do journeys for self, journeys for others in the group, and sometimes we do journeys of service for various situations as we feel called.
What is Core Shamanism? These are the shamanic methods as taught by Michael Harner and The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and those trained in this tradition. You don't need to have trained with the foundation specifically, but you do need to have familiarity with these methods and to be able to work with them.
Don't Have Training? No problem, just sign up for an Introduction to Shamanic Journeying workshop with Una, to learn the basics before participating in the circle.
Already Have Training? Fantastic! Please reach out to Una (or use the Contact form in the footer of this website), and describe your training, teacher, etc,. She will be in touch.
