I’m interested in aikido. How do I get started?
Please come and observe a live class. There you will be able to see how the classes work, meet Joe Melberg Sensei, and ask any questions you may have.
More detailed information about getting started in Kannagara Aikido is available here.
Do I need a gi?
If you are only coming to observe a class you can forgo a gi but if you decide to register and attend regular training, you will need to purchase a gi.
Do I need any special equipment in order to train?
A bokken (wooden sword) and jo (wooden staff) are used in our aikido classes. You will want to obtain these soon after registering.
I don’t live in Little Rock. Do you offer Zoom classes?
Yes! We do offer live aikido classes via zoom. This is best for students who have at least some in-person training experience.
